It was a sight to behold as the first batch of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine touched down today at the Kotoka International airport. These vaccines are part of a series of intervention by the German government and the AU to support middle income and poor countries in Africa to enable it vaccinate its citizenry against the virus. Information reaching infoblog is that about 20 percent of the vaccine is paid for and funded by the German government and aids from the AU and UNICEF to support the poorest of the poor countries in Africa of which Ghana is an active member.

Led by the Health Minister Designate, Dr Manu, the vaccines were received at the international airport. Reports reaching infoblog from the presidency highlights that preference would be be given to health workers, the aged, government officials, people with underlining health conditions amongst others in the distribution of the vaccine. The government also held a massive celebration to commemorate the red letter day admits dancing and jubilations.

For many especially sympathizes of the ruling party, this is another fulfilled promise made by his excellence the president of the Republic of Ghana ; Nana Addo

Dankwa Akufo-Addo. As to whether the other divide shares in the same sentiment, it’s topic for another day.
